The Process
Lovingly Made
by Human Hands
Every portrait begins with your photos, your dog’s personality, and my eye as an artist. I create each piece through a custom, artist-directed digital mixed media process that blends photographic reference, creative editing, digital painting, texture, color, and professional finishing.
This is not a quick filter, template, or one-click portrait. It is a carefully guided process shaped by composition, expression, mood, light, and emotion. My goal is to create artwork that feels personal, warm, and worthy of display.
I work with light, texture, and color to bring out what people love most about their dogs: the expression, the spirit, the sweetness, and the story behind the face.
What you receive is a custom digital fine art portrait, prepared as a high-resolution file for beautiful printing on fine art paper, canvas, metal, or other premium materials.

The Artist
Clifford Jones
Clifford Jones is a Scottsdale-based author, photographer, and visual artist specializing in digital watercolor and mixed media paintings. His work spans portraiture, nature, and the quiet beauty of everyday life — rendered through a distinctly human lens that has taken decades to develop.
Cliff came to visual art the way most meaningful things arrive — through lived experience. A lifetime of building, losing, rebuilding, and eventually arriving at a place of creative freedom gave him both the patience and the passion to make work that means something. Today, art is not a side project. It is central to who he is.
His dog portraits are among his most personal commissions. Dogs hold a special place in his life and creative world — they appear in his writing, his photography, and now, at the heart of this work. When Cliff paints your dog, he brings that genuine reverence to every piece.
In addition to his visual art practice, Cliff is an active writer and photographer whose work has been published in national outlets. He approaches each medium — the written word, the camera, the digital canvas — with the same philosophy: slow down, pay attention, make it matter.

Terms & Conditions
Effective Date: June 1, 2025 · Last Updated: June 1, 2025
These Terms & Conditions govern your use of amazingdogportraits.com and any purchase of custom artwork or fine art printing from Amazing Dog Portraits, operated by Clifford Jones. By placing a commission order, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Commission Process
All portrait commissions begin with a consultation through our commission request form. Once scope, style, and pricing are confirmed, you will receive an invoice. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to begin work. The remaining balance is due upon delivery of the final artwork.
2. Refund & Cancellation Policy
No refunds are issued once a deposit has been paid on a custom portrait commission. By paying your deposit, you acknowledge that the Artist will begin work on your unique, custom artwork and that the deposit compensates the Artist for time, creative labor, and materials allocated to your project.
Fine art printing and framing orders are also non-refundable once production has begun. Because fine art prints and framing are produced to your exact specifications, we cannot accept returns or issue refunds on completed orders.
If you wish to cancel a commission before paying a deposit, there is no charge and no obligation.
In the unlikely event of a material error or defect caused solely by the Artist, we will remake the affected item at no additional charge.
3. Revisions
Revisions are defined as reasonable adjustments to color, composition, or detail within the original agreed-upon scope. The number of included revision rounds will be confirmed at the time of your commission. Requests for fundamental changes beyond the original scope may be subject to additional fees.
4. Photo Submissions
You are responsible for providing high-quality reference photos. The Artist cannot be held responsible for portrait quality if reference photos are blurry, poorly lit, or of insufficient resolution. By submitting photos, you confirm you own or have rights to those images.
5. Copyright & Intellectual Property
All original artwork remains the intellectual property of the Artist. You receive a personal, non-commercial license to display and enjoy your portrait. The Artist retains the right to display the artwork in his portfolio, on social media, and in marketing materials unless you request confidentiality in writing prior to the start of your commission. You may not reproduce, sell, or use the artwork for commercial purposes without express written permission.
6. Delivery
Digital files are delivered via email or secure download link. Physical prints and framed artwork are shipped via a tracked carrier. Delivery timelines are estimates, not guarantees. Risk of loss passes to you upon handoff to the carrier. In the event of carrier-caused damage, retain all packaging and contact us within 72 hours of delivery.
7. Limitation of Liability
The Artist's total liability for any claim shall not exceed the total amount paid for the relevant commission. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
8. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Maricopa County, Arizona.
9. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the site or placement of orders after changes constitutes acceptance.
